Health projects information

Through community outreaches, UCBC members have mobilized and sensitized over 50 families and encouraged them to go for voluntary counselling and testing (VCT), adherence on antiviral therapy (ARVs), PMTCT knowledge among women and how to cope up with stigma and discrimination, malaria and other related illnesses in adolescent health.

Children and AIDS

This programme contributes to the national goal of HIV prevalence action through three projects;

  • Prevention: winow of opportunity, hence reduce the prevalence of HIV in children and young people through use of updated information, lifeskills and services, including HIV testing, counselling, treatment and care
  • Care and Treatment: supports the prevention of HIV transmition from the mothers to their babies.
    Adherence programme is saving so many lives, restoring hope of AIDS orphans and vulnerable children together with their care givers, boosting the provision of quality service of ART and efficient drug use.
  • Orphans and vulnerable children works to enhance the capacity of families and care takers to support children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Key Actions

  • Scale up capacity to develop actions and plans at community level
  • Advocate for scaling up and prevention od mother to child transmition of HIV/AIDS to the antinental clinics.
  • Develop and implement strategies to introduce paediatric AIDS treatment in clinics.

 

Get involved

Our fundraising drive for the establishment of the Indigent Children's Home and Children's Pantry was a success. We raised funds for the home and fed and showed love to the children. Honourable Nabilah Ssempala Nagayi woman Member of Parliament Kampala and Honourable James Kubekteria Chair Person Social Service comittee parliament graced the function
